Hackers getting away with it

Hey guys.

Iv just been on the DTK deathmatch server for D2, and have finally decided to post my issue on the forums.

For a long time now hackers have been using sv_pure to their advantage. It allows them to use what ever skins they want. What they are doing is using skins for the walls. This allows them to see through it and therefore walling without having it being detected.

My main issue isnt just sv_pure, But is that the admins do not ban them.

This is probably the third time a blatant waller/aimbotter has been on and the admins just keep playing. Im not just talking about your average waller/aimbotter that tries to hide it but I am talking about ones which prefire every shot, trace through walls, have their screens shake when they shoot and get Headshots every shot.

I demo'd it and sent it to Simmy, one of the two admins on at the time. He said he couldnt watch it for what ever reason. (Fair enough)

I said "why cant you just ban him off what you have seen?"

It is soooo blatant.

He said he is still watching and deciding if he is walling, and that he couldnt ban without proof. So i told him to demo him, and then ban him. But still he refused to ban on the spot, even with 2 demos as proof.
He once again said, that he will have to review my demo, and his which he had recorded too.

My point is, Why cant admins ban on the spot even with a demo to back it up?
Hackers on servers fk everyones ranks up and make people not want to play.

Honestly what ever admin cant see a waller/aimbotter that blatant or has to watch the demo 500 times over to make a decision should not be in that position. Even after typing all of this I bet the waller/aimbotter is still playing on the server knowing that the admins are not going to do anything about it.

And I know what yours going to say, "send the demo in"
If you want it, ask Simmy for it. Iv wasted enough time trying to help clean the server of these low class dip shits.

If you want a server without hackers, then do something about it as soon as the situation comes up. Dont twiddle your thumbs thinking if he is walling or not when he gets headshot after headshot through doors. Or prefires every shot.

You have to be patient, I can understand being annoyed with seeing people hacking and not having them banned instantly, but you have to understand there needs to be evidence for their ban to done, and the more evidence the less mistakes that can be made.

if theres a hacker in the server, and a admin in present the admin should jump into spec and watch the hacker play, its common sense.. the admin cant say no its his right to keep his server free of hackers, so admins can be lazy! imo if i was admin and i was told that there was a guy hacking in my server and i came in and watched him hacking then id ban him right there on the spot.. you dont need to review demos for blatant hackers, does internode review demos before bans?

Alright, not wanting to seem like a n00b or anything, but I kind of am.
How do you record a demo, and then how do you play it?
I went on the Sourcebans site and went to one of the mediafire links (I must say this one of the best organised banning systems) to find that it was a [filename].dem file. Could someone shine a little light on this topic for me? Even a link to an existing thread which I may have missed.

I am not sure, I think the DTK servers have a function set up for it, but I know normally you go spec, open your console (you may need to enable it in options), then just type record <demoname> (obviously in <demoname> just replace that with what you want to call it, like record hacker122019.) Then you can spec the guy who you think is hacking.

hang on mate, this seems like a grudge post, sorry but it does.
As admins we dont spectate everyone 24/7, we like to play too. IF we notice something suspicious (usually our own team member shooting directly through a door or something, or an impossible ratio with the tmp, we look at it. We dont demo people just because they shoot us twice as we run past doors. When another player puts us onto a hacker yes we spec.
Simmy did nothing wrong. Simmy is only in his 2nd week of admin, cut the guy some slack he hasn't had as much practise at this as others. What you have to realise too, is there are some VERY good players on that server that play high level comp, and win. Pre-fire is a skill they use and are good at.
It has happened before that an admin has had 10% doubt and banned anyway when the guy is legit. That makes DtK look very bad as a whole, so the rule is unless you are 150% sure and have a perfect working demo DO NOT BAN.
There were two admins on the server at the time, why didnt you ask the other adminonline to have a look too (Simmy asked for thier help) I have tried to chase down this demo but the file is corrupt, i am reviewing simmy's demo and will get back to you personally. But for your own future reference if we are ever unsure we pass the demo UP the chain of experience to get a final answer.
Right now i am downloading Simmy's demo If YOU think your demo is proof enough, please send me a non-corrupted copy to fishy.dtk@gmail.com

Edit: I guess what i am saying is that Simmy did nothing wrong by our procedures and as has already been mentioned at DtK we require demo's that are use-able for proof for all bans over one week. Raging about him on forums is not really going to fix the issue.

Cookie like i said on the night im not going to ban on the spot when there is doubt if someone is hacking? and neither is any other admin? I told you on the night the file you sent me was corrupt, you didn't resend? mabey things would of ended differently if i was able to view your demo and it was obvious that he was hacking. From the 2 demos i got and viewed (also with another admin) i wasnt 100% convinced he was hacking so i wasn't going to ban. Think if it was you playing css at a high lvl and someone complained you were hacking and the admin banned you without giving you proper look over. Dont be so quick to judge.

There is,
NO EVIDENCE OF WALL HACKING AT ALL AND NO BANS SHALL APPLY.
Unless another demo can be provided with proof of actual hacks "ThisGuy" will not be banned.

Just as I thought, The admins will shrug it off. Simmy was specing, he had his demo. It was blatant as all hell. And I have just been on the server now, and guess what..... The same hacker is still there. I will send demo in. Its all I can do.

No offense, but some admins need to stop being lazy. It makes your servers look like crap when there are multiple hackers in 1 game and admins are doing nothing.

You will see with the demo that I send in, That he is blatant. He should of been banned that night atleast! Maybe if some admins were not lazy and did something about it. (Im not saying all admins are lazy, just a handful)

The admins are not shrugging it off. They are simply going by the protocol they've been told to go by.

If there is any doubt, they won't ban.
If you are so sure, submit more demo's of the people you assume are hacking so they can be looked into.

As for you targetting Simmy. Simmy is still a new administrator and from what I can see is being responsible with not just banning for the sake of banning without enough proof. It's not a point of the administrators being lazy, it's a point of the administrators being thorough and fair to EVERYBODY CONCERNED.

They are NOT going to start slapping out bans just because YOU demand it.

As I said, if you are so convinced someone is hacking, submit the demo's to SB so others can check the evidence over and get a second or 3rd opinion on said evidence.

The fact that the admins refuse to banhammer at everybody's beck and call actually shows why our servers are fairly well populated night after night, day after day.

YOUR opinion of blatant may not be so 'blatant' to more seasoned players or administrators who are looking at the same thing you are.

All I see here is you looking for someone to bitch at and the admins are the easiest target.

Exactly what i see, he spam shoots common points of seeing a T if he was walling he would have his sooo many more... not hacking at all :| When i get cookies demo i will view it and if i dont think its hacking s15 or krueger can make the final call
