RACISM is a common problem when it comes to DTK JB. Constantly i see people using vulgar words and phrases to amuse other players or as a joke when it comes to a joke day or talent day. I just want to make it clear to people playing JB that anybody seen being racist can expect a kill or a slay. The DTK community will not accept racism and it is important for people to know that it isn't tolerated IRL either.

If you're getting harassed, all you have to do is record a demo. If you're seeing someone get bullied, by all means you hit that demo as well.
It's not only racism it's just plain verbal abuse, hopefully with admins becoming "Stricter" they'll also put their foot down on anyone who thinks they can insult people.

We have been through this before, on a thread i made. To save you having to go and view it, it was deemed that on days like Joke Day, a little bit of racism is ok, as long as nooone is getting offended.

I believe there is a difference between racism and a joke. for instance if someone was to include a racial remark in abuse or an insult they can expect the penalties for that to be very harsh, however if it is merely a joke then I honestly don't see a problem with it as long as its not too overboard, I'm not racist i hate everyone equally!. this has been discussed before here if anyone would like to read it.

The simple fact is, you do not know who is on the other side of a computer.... Nationality wise.. My thoughts are there are certain things that are ok and some things people take to far.. But where is the line drawn? Maybe HR can tell us
Also it depends if it is directed at someone in particular or if its a mate you are messing around with. People can get offended with racist remarks even if it is a joke... Im half islander and i do not get offended at all... because this is the internet and it happends... And most of the time people are just joking.

erm that's fine for danieel but none of this was brought to my attention.

If it was, then i would have given you the same answer i'm giving you now.

when it comes to just JOKES for something like joke day or whatever, as long as it's not completely over the top, abit of racism in jokes etc is completely fine.. we are NOT the humour police and keep in mind this game is designed largely for ADULTS. Most adults have a thick enough skin and enough experience to be able to tell the difference between what is a joke and what is not.

Oh and another thing ... DO NOT BE THREATENING SLAYS OR BANS WHEN YOU ARE NOT AN ADMINISTRATOR OR HAVENT EVEN BOTHERED TO CLEAR IT WITH THE SENIOR ADMINISTRATOR, STAFF OR COUNCIL.

Btw incase we get smartarses trying to take advantage of this, the 'hateful' also includes trying to poorly mask it up as a joke ... for example

"oh u know that dude <insert player name> is a slant eyed c*** ... oh wait no not THIS one, a DIFFERENT person with the same name... "

and to add onto what tonic said

The admins define that line between joking and seriously being racist in their head, thats why you will see us telling off one mate playing around with another mate because they are abusing eachother and they think it is in good fun but to us it looks like they are abusing the hell out of eachother.

So we tell them off and then they reply with "awww nah we are just mates" we dont know that and we cant tell so we pick up on the very racist stuff and very abusive stuff and stop it dead whether your friends or not we dont want this on our server.

I don't know... If it was serious, hateful racism, then by all means, should be punished. However, some of the funniest things I have experienced on JB were people changing their names to things like 'Johnny Boonga Alfie', putting on aboriginal voices, and talking about petrol etc...

Things like that aren't meant to offend anyone, and are purely for laughs, which I believe is acceptable.

Anyway, it isn't my place to say, but I would take that on board if you were reviewing the rules on racism...

You have to keep in mind though that sometimes people can use the excuse of a joke to get away with blatant hateful racism. There's a fine line between a true joke that plays off racial stereotypes and pure racism disguised with some laughs.

That said, it's unrealistic and silly to police every single joke that gets made. So I think the admins have it pretty right in that if it's insulting anyone or obviously hateful then it's punishable. Other than that, I personally don't find most racist jokes funny (they're pretty unimaginative and lazy) but in life there are always people who will say things you don't like or agree with, and often you just have to put up with it, unless you want to be getting into a fight with every second person you meet.

I agree, racism is not on in this community we are a large range of diffrent nationallitys and ages.

Question - If i bring some friends into the JB server or MG, and we then get all racist but only towards each other not towards other people could we get banned for that? Yeah i know 12 year olds play JB but im 100% sure that in today's society they've heard worse.
