I dunno if it is or not. But why should be get rid of it exactly? So what if it's annoying. I hear the same tune 20 times a day!

The first lot of music that starts up as soon as you connect to a DTK server, is the same on all servers, and only lasts for about 10 seconds if that, honestly, it's not that bad, regardless of your personal taste in music. I've yet to hear of any cases where 10 seconds of music has been the direct and only cause of a human fatality.
Any other music or sound is from the advertisements that help pay the bills to keep the servers up and running.
