CT's and chat

It has come to my attention that many ct's don't seem to be reading chat.

Recently i was playing JB, and arrived late into a round, i repeatedly asked for orders in chat, but no ct's noticed. Anyway in the end i reverted to using my mic, which i hate cause its a crappy laptop one, and i got an answer straight away. (this is just an example)

I would really love it if the ct's started reading chat more often, so that the guys without mic's don't get frustrated.

Yup i couldn't agree more. They also do not read their own team chat, i remember Becca raging at a CT because of it :P
Guys, honestly read chat. It really isn't that hard and it saves the majority mic spamming, "repeat orders" over and over again.

just keep in mind cts have a rough time as it is controlling all the ts just wait till there finished orders then when they notice your gone ask for orders or ask for orders at the begining

I was seriously sitting on t for a bout half the round once asking for orders in chat because I was afk all the terrorists were muted. I know when I'm ct I make sure I am reading the chat as often when I am T and don't use my mic it can get very frustrating

This has happened to me a few times now i especially hate it when i type in chat I was afk could someone plz tell me orders? and i start walking outside of my cell to where the majority of T's are and then i got popped in the face

This is true because it happens all the time. CT's need to get their act straight.

It is hard, i know this is a wild long shot, but could a plug-in be made where some types "repeat orders", and it comes up in the middle of the screen like warden chat? Its just an idea. I know alot of CTs dont end up reading Chat, and i must admit its certainly hard to while controlling the T's! but i always try my best, and i know im not perfect and all.....

I do understand that things can get busy but all it takes is one CT to read chat.
The plug-in isn't a bad idea but would you want "Repeat Orders" popping up in the middle of your screen over and over again, especially when the server has 30+ people on it? I can almost guarantee you that some people are going to abuse it, a lot like mic spam.
One effective way i have seen is do what Tomi does; Repeat orders @##$%#$%@%$#. Yes it does spam chat over and over, it also does annoy people BUT it gets the attention of the CTs.
The most effective and harmless way though is just read chat guys.

I can fully understand if the ct's can't read chat because everyone is rebelling. But when the ct's have everything under control alot of the time none of them are paying attention to it. All they need is one ct to just keep an eye on chat and tell the warden when someone wants a repeat or is asking a question.

Honestly it's a part of the cts job to check the chat to prevent freekilling from events like this.

part of being a CT is actually reading the chat, it's a requirement to have and use a mic (when appropriate) as a CT, but not as a T, therefore, it should be down to COMMON SENSE for the CT's to be reading chat.

It doesn't make sense that sometimes there's actually 5 or more CTs and none of them read the chat?

Possibly cause every one of those CTs are focusing on every little chance to pop anyone in the head?

Reading chat as CT isn't that hard. Reading chat as an admin is a lot harder

I agree here with Becca and Purplicious, joining CT automatically takes on the job of them having to constantly reading chat, because obviously not all players have a mic. Reading chat can be very useful for information, and for questions that the T's have to ask, such as repeat in orders, or what the magic word was etc.

I always read chat when I'm a ct (and when a t) But when I'm not warden I find it hard to say the orders without talking over the warden, the orders are also often too long to type into chat quickly and then hoping it doesn't get pushed up with people spamming text chat
