As of today...
The 20 useful post requirement for applications is NO LONGER A REQUIREMENT.

For those who have been rejected due to lack of useful posts, you are invited to re-apply to join DTK.

If you were rejected for other reasons such as bans, then the date given on the final processing post still applies to you.

I will go through the Human Resources checklist, and edit it as required to ensure we don't end up rejecting new applications from those who are reapplying before the date they were given.
I will be going through all applications that were rejected in the last three weeks, and changing the prefix to accepted due to the change in requirements.

Please be patient, give me abit of time to be able to go through all of them, before you reapply, as you may not need to =)

If you are unsure if this includes you, post here on this thread, and I will get back to you asap.

yes it should be modified i mean i know the 20 useful posts method is time consuming to check but its a great method it should be either check OR they should be put on a new TRIAL rank where theyll be reviewed and watched over but instead of that i think it should stay for all the reason kronic just said thanks

I agree with Kronic here... I've noticed Neophytes being arrogant, disrespectful sh!tbags recently, pretty sure it's on demo as well! I can understand the growth aspect but this is going to cause so much more work for Staff as random trolls and such are going to influx JUST to give us a bad name... Only time will tell though

Those who are saying that there should be a new trial rank to replace the 20 useful post requirement etc ...... Incase you haven't already seen it.... Neophyte IS the recruit rank, and the time people stay on that rank, depends entirely on them and their involvement with DTK.

Applicants STILL are getting screened with bans and forums infractions, the only part of the process changed is the useful posts. There is no danger in dropping this - its positive for the community in so many ways, with no negative impact on the community

I'm with Elite on this. The 20 useful posts actually showed that people wanted to be apart of the community for all the right reasons, not just for the skins. Yes this is a good method of expanding the community but was the 20 useful posts really that hard to begin with?
Though i do accept the decision and i'm sure it will be a positive step forward for the community.

We have already explained in more than one place now about the Neophyte rank, we have also explained why the changes to the application process.
Never mind the fact that the changes implimented means that OUR time (HR team) in sorting through applications is taken will be down from 3+ hours to 30 minutes tops.

read over this post a few times.. I agree and dont agree. yes its good to have all new members in dtk. as you said this is a community and i think most members should be known especially all the new people come in. as elite said i think it should be compulsory to make an intro just to let everyone kno who you are. dont think its entirely fair that people just put an app in and then never come on forums again? think they should atleast be giving some positives and some negatives ingame. just giving an imput to the community.. but again i do think its great to have more members.

I find this a dumb move, why even bother having applications? Just open it completely, all you're doing now is having a break between applying and getting in now which is silly because they will be doing the same thing right up to the point of getting into the clan.

Communities tend to be more open and welcoming. Clans tend to have tree-outs (to quote Chris Rock).

What I'm saying is, practically anyone can join a community just by having that common interest, for example; Games, Locality, Job, Hobby etc. etc.
We could argue this all day, but the decisions council make regarding the running of DtK are not made lightly. We ought to respect it whether we disagree or not, (in my case i honestly thought a post requirement was a good thing, though i do understand why it has been removed.)


I have noticed some of the better dust2 players that have wanted to join have been put off by the emphasis on 20 USEFUL posts. You yourself Dylax had trouble making them and needed advice.

DtK is an EXPANDING Community and its expanding at a large rate. So as its not an exclusive CLAN the requirements being minimized only means we will expand faster.

On that note If you prefer to be in an exclusive clan DtK Provides with all the war teams plus exotek and aegis.

yes fishy i really did struggle with making something usefull and i thank you 100 % on helping me. but i know this is a community but honestly think that people should join and help and give feedback but people just joining to have tags and skins.. just doesnt seem 100% right. but then again it is great to have new people. i never said i 100% disagree with it... i was just saying maybe they should put some imput in.

Personally I think these arguments are not very good

your pretty much saying that a persons attitude should be solely based on ones ability to make a decent post on a forum, removing this limit not only encourages people who were put off by the post restriction, but will also mean that the staff should be keeping a eye on the person as a whole (ie. attitude in game) not that they weren't doing this before, but now there will be more of an emphasis on it. simply looking at forum posts is not a good way to determine if a person is good or not.

in short, you should be more looking at the person when they are a [N]eophyte (this seems to be taking over more as a separate rank rather than what it should be, which is a probationary period where the member should be trialed for a certain period of time before being moved into the real ranks) rather than what they post on a website

PS. don't judge me because I only recently applied after the restriction was removed, my opinion would be no different if I was already a member

Just because some one gains the [N] rank it doesn't mean they are fully a memer. The [N]'s are on proabition level and must be helpful to become the [M] rank. There is a ranking system for a reason.

What is with people and using colour here lol.

I believe DtK community also includes everyone who is not an actual member, after all in a community you dont have to actually join up to be apart of, for instance your local community with your local shops and houses and things. I joined the community a while ago but will not being asking for membership, I have more than enough qualifications but why join? for skins maybe? I dont get it really, anyone who plays regularly or is on the forums is pretty much in the community.

You seem to forget these clans do that but also look for good qualities in the people, you might have a wicked player but can you actually play with him? the team wont work if he is just a raging nut case or a dick.

What are the reasons for expanding members anyway? as long as the numbers are still gathering on the servers everything is fine.

Like I said in my first post, just open it up completely, let people just tag up and get it over and done with, theres no point for applications, any old troll can get in as long as they're not already perm banned.

There are still requirements.. Eg playing time.. If you have 10 hours over our servers chances are an admin has seen you, and if you have been a butthead, they will say so on the application.. If you have been good they will vouch. The infractions and bans requirement links almost directly to that, and in the waiting period, we will be watching you... (creepy huh?) Oh and the colours are for emphasis and a little bit of fun.. The page looks so dull and dreary without them.
Clans are normally V exclusive Exotek and Aegis are our Clans and you cant get in without trials... They look for teamwork and stuff too. Aegis i believe is having an issue with a whole new team not playing together right at the moment.
