Promotion Recommendations

Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls, it's that time of the month again ......

No I'm not on my period, it's time for you, the community to speak up and let us know who you think deserves a promotion.

This thread will remain open for everyone to have their say for a couple of weeks, before the Human Resources team get together and make some decisions about promotions and demotions.

Whether you are Council, Staff, SA, JA, Jedi, Veteran, Trooper, Member, Neophyte or Registered User, everyone is more than welcome to put their vote in.

If the person you wish to vote for, has already been voted for, no problem, vote for them again, the more votes the person has, the better chance they have of being recognised for their contributions and attitude either in game or forums.

BEFORE you put your vote in, keep in mind what the ranks within DTK are all about, if you're not sure, read this link

DO NOT VOTE FOR YOURSELF OR YOU WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED FOR PROMOTION!

Recommendations are to be made only for promotions to the following ranks:

Member
Trooper
Veteran
Jedi

The format for this thread must be kept to, else your post will just be ignored and or deleted when we have our meeting to discuss promotions/demotions.

Format for recommendations:

Recommending: Forum name of player you wish to vote for (in game name if different)
To Rank: Rank you think this person should be at.
Reasons: You MUST give good reasons for your vote. Simply saying "oh he's a great player" will NOT give us reason to look twice at your vote.

Guys at the end of the day Both sides are valid, Yes we are community and its good to hear everyones voice, but this thread is just proving that some peoples voices shouldnt be heard. The fact is that hawk is right, You give a person a option to vote for a promotion they are going to vote their mates, its simple, its like those reality tv shows, its not about who has the best voice or whos the best dancer, its who can get the crowd on their side. doesnt mean there good, just means they are liked and this is whats been happening with the votes and what rank people are suggestion promotions. But through all the bad stuff there is genuine votes for people who are showing how good they are for the community thats why there is a :REASON WHY: section when you suggest their names. But at the end of the day It is Staffs and admins jobs to see whos doing what on their servers. and i will be really disapointed in the admin system if people get jumped 2 positions because they got a vote. IF you get promoted it should be 1 SPOT!!!! Veterans JUST AS SERIOUS AS JEDI U CANT BE A ♥♥♥♥EN VETERAN IF UR 2 WEEKS INTO THE CLAN, COME ON VETERAN MEANS LONG SERVER MEMBER AND THE FACT PEOPLE ARE GETTTING PROMOTED TO IT CAUSE THEY MAKE 2 HELPFULL THREADS IS REDICULOUS and if people can get to that rank so easy, whats the point in ranks????/

Hawk has been with DTK for 8 months now. He is very mature and a regular on Deathmatch servers, I 100% agree with Enzome, if he posts on the forums there will be a valid reason to do so and wont be a stupid thing, as said by Enzome

Reasons: Probably one of the nicest guys I've met to play Minigames and Jailbreak, I actually think its impossible to get him angry, even if you drop a brick on his toe, kudos to him!

Reasons: great player, has been in dtk for a long time and fun to play with. soap meets all criteria in the following;
"Those who display nothing but great sportsmanship in game, who stand out of the crowd for all the right reasons and are known to be one of the 'great players' on the server they play on"

Solution: if you have a problem with each other sort it out, outside the forums, nobody wants to see you whine and carry on.
We all want a good community to see what people think the reasons are the current members should be promoted if i have to read page after page of incessant bitching, then i will probably never view threads that seem important as i would deem it a waste of my time.

People who turn a blind eye to what I have said are just people who want their rank upped.

When i first joined dtk, ranks meant alot. There was a filter on who joined the DtK community and after that, you needed to do alot to get any higher than member.
Really, becca's post says it all.

So, if none of the admins or staff have recognized a players contributions and attitude ingame/forums, then why do they need a promotion?

That took a fair bit of time to come out, as it should. And not long after we need the community to "point out" and "identify" players who deserve a promotion for what they did in a span of 3 weeks.
When I look at the list made 3 weeks ago, I recognized alot of those players and I can say "yeh, they did deserve it because they are regulars" some i didnt recognize may of played JB (which i don't).

So, after that thorough overview done by the staff, they should have a good idea on who has been good for DtK and who are the up coming players who are also putting their effort to make DtK better but didn't get a promotion the previous list (http://www.dying2kill.com.au/threads/4314-Promotions!).

STOP, Think, Don't troll back with a reply and see how this thread is either pointless or staff being lazy and making Ranks/Promotions meaningless.
I don't think they are being lazy, because Kruger said the HR position needed to be Full time and was expecting alot out of the person applying for it.
As far as I know, There are 2 Staff, maybe more, doing the hard work. So it surely cannot be lazyness as the reason for this thread.

The only point of this thread is to get the whole community to interact and give friendly feedback on players they like. So, If you change the title to "Friendly Feedback on your favourite member" then, yeh, I wouldn't have a problem and it has a "POINT" a "Goal" an "Objective".

Being the way it is now, promotions are based on whoever has been recognized which can be done without the whole community needing to point out that one night that player was so awesome and deserves promotion. Make promotion discussions behind closed doors and make ranks feel important (not by giving admin or anything, just hard to get) instead of giving the impression that ranks are handed out willy nilly to whoever.

I'm not trolling or arguing because I want to, I'm pointing out what is wrong with this thread, why its gone wrong and how to resolve it.

I know this probably won't count, but I believe it's well worth putting out there!

Recommending: Pand3mic

Reasons: He's currently a great admin! Always active, always enforcing the rules, always being fair, and always being there to help. Any time that I'm online, which is a lot of the time, I see Pand3mic on, in Jailbreak, doing his job as JA. Even though, we already have Cass as a Senior Admin already, it's just sometimes he isn't in-game/or isn't in-game as often as he had used to be; as much as I love Cass as Senior Admin and as a person in general, I would love to see Pand3mic as a Senior Admin as well, he definitely holds the potential to be as great as Cass, he already edits and fixes maps, and it would be amazing to see him up there as well. It's just in the past few weeks Cass hasn't been AS active as he used to be, because back before, I saw Cass as much as I saw Pand3mic now. So yeah, I'm just putting my personal opinion out there. Don't get me wrong, I love Cass as a Senior Admin!!!

Yeah Its mostly because of IRL stuff, my gf, family, school etc (just got an E on my chem assignment, need to start working on school >.<)

but also my CSS has been broken for a few weeks... it crashes my pc... I just fixed it so tomorrow is my JB COMEBACK!!! WOOO!

Ahhh, that's cool Cass, glad to see you be back! Missed you man! I hope school starts going up for you! Same thing happened to me last term, wasn't doing too well in my subjects either, but trying hard at it this term, working out a time table to get the best school results, and some time to get online :P

Reason: I've seen him around on the jailbreak server, and the forums, one of the more quiet achievers in my opinion. He makes a good contribution to DTK discussions, active around the servers and forums, and a very friendly player to have on. A great person to have to represent DTK as a [T]rooper, he has a great attitude, and a very fair person to play with. Basically someone to look up to!

I see what your getting at but rather than start a flame war in a thread that isn't helpful make a new one and discuss it there? As I see it this thread is supposed to have community input into the future of DTK that's te point of havIng a community.
If you think it should be admin and council controlled that's entirely your decision, I however feel that if they get the community involved it isn't ran by dictators, which is good in my opinion.

If you wish to discuss this topic further I suggest making [bold]a new topic[/bold] and I will put my mind down as with yours and the rest of the community who want to talk about the subject. This is not the thread to be posting in.

Reasons: He's a real chilled fella, great fun to play with. He's a part of Aegis and is even the caller (Tbh not sure what this means but im sure its good!). Hes an all round goot fella and has not had any bans. (as far as i know) Doesnt need to be on [N] anymore IMO.

Reasons: Hes been in the community for a very long time and is still only [M]. I believe a person with such great attitude about the game deserved the veteran tag for sure. He is one of the true veterans of DtK.

If we cant discuss things and have our opinions on matters then we are not a community and yes it gets a bit heated up, but once the heats over everyones relieved they had their say, tensions get high sometimes? so what?
