Hey all,

Just wanted to let everyone know that there has been alot of abuse towards our female players online lately... I will easy voteban anyone who is doing this on whilst there is no admin on the server! Is this fair?

While I understand completely what you are saying jimmy, the fact remains that it only takes one person to be offended for it to be considered abuse/racism/sexism ect... Sure, having a dig between friends is acceptable, we all do it! But randoms coming in and letting shoot I think is another matter, considering some people that come onto Office DM can be quite harsh and very slanderous! I dunno, it's always going to happen but I guess it just a matter of opinion and group debate when it happens

Maybe something less drastic like a kick for them to get the message and if they continue then a ban is required because it is abuse and sexism so it's safe to say repeat abuse is worth a ban I think.

my thoughts
the rules are on the server theres yours 1st warning [not our fault if they didnt read them]
even if your a member you still have to look after the other players on the server the best way you can and warn them, theres your 2nd
if they only have just joined and trolling being a dick cause they can voteban
but if your been playing with them for a while and there starting to get frustrated votekick them

as an office regular i have seen my fair share of random abuse from people, my ex actually stopped using her mic when on this server simply to stop all of the crap that she copped.

as i have stated on these forums abuse, racism sexism will not be tolerated please take the time to type record xoxo in console so we can nab the buggers and put a stop to it, i know it's a hassle we as admins also have to follow the same process it is just how it goes.

Micky Vee you know all of the Office admins quite well i believe, if you dont go ahead and add them to your friends lists they're all fast to move and operate pretty quickly.

as far as !cp goes be careful when using it, kick first, ban second. it is only a 1 hour ban.

If no admin is on and they do not stop after you and or other players of DtK telling them to cut it out, then yes a votekick is good, but try get an admin on before you resort to kicking them yourself.

Yeah I'm really starting to get tired of it.

Even last night I forget his name but i think it was "Carnage" came on out of the blue and started harrassing me.

Note to everyone...I didnt actually do anything and I hadnt even spoken to him.

Everyone on last night kept telling me to kick him straight away and I gave him a verbal warning and I let him go for atleast 10 - 15 minutes...I gave him a last verbal warning to which he replied - Well if this is my last warning "I hope you F&%* (or get raped) by your Grandpa and get an STI." It was at that point I kicked him and within 2 seconds he came back on but didnt say anything more.

I wouldnt like anyone to be spoken to like that and I certainly wouldnt like it being said to me.

I believe that admins should first verbally warn the person...then kick...then ban.

I like to give the person an oppotunity to apologise before I kick them...but this guy just went over the top completely.

Demo ... Submit ... Resulting Ban. They will soon learn, remember though a few girls on here might be playing around aswell or encouraging a bit of a tussle so do not always be sexist! This is a fun community!

All admins that i play with are in my friends lists and have jumped onto my game if someone is being a pest... Lol i just hate hasstling u guys..
Yeah bruva i generally dont have any issues if the ppl are muckin around, when they abuse continuosly it is unfair to any player..

I am glad to read this thread as it shows just how much support there is on these servers.

I generally find that (when its not prime time and all the regulars are on) i prob get about maybe 1 person abusing me just for being a girl every hour or so (sometimes more than one person at a time) just on the office server. This is the first server I have used my mic on; most other servers I visit I would get abused all of the time. In saying that, most people wont, it tends to just be one or two people per server. But it is very hard to enjoy the game (in particular socially) when you can't even use the mic because you're too afraid too! I can think of two girls off the top of my head who regularly play, that don't use their mics because they are too scared.

I can wholly accept people trolling or mucking about (I do so myself) but some people don't understand there is a difference between trolling and just being a wanker. I had someone say some language to me the other day that I don't even think Carni would repeat, and then he said (after the server votemuted him) that he 'was just trolling'.

I understand say that there is other kinds of abuse on css, racism and such, but I think that some people see sexism as 'more acceptable.'

I will try to remember to demo people next time (if i'm quick enough) as I'm sure you don't want these people on the servers anyway. On the last server I was a regular, I had to actually threaten to submit something to Steam themselves for someone to stop! So I am glad you guys take it seriously.

I am glad to read this thread as it shows just how much support there is on these servers.

I support your camping area... but trying to take it away from you :P
But on a serious note, it is sad that girls (especially on the office server) should cop legitimate crap. I mean I'll pay you and carni out but I'm always joking and you girls know that

Also... Carniiiii, now that you're admin, you have to be a little more harsh. Don't take crap at all. Warn, then kick. That's how Jumpar roles (even though he's a shit player he's a decent admin)
I know you don't like penalising people... but a warning then a kick isn't something to feel guilty over :P
Remember that as you are the female admin on the server, that you represent what behavior is allowed/accepted towards women in game, so if you allow sexist abuse to happen to you, then it is likely that other female players will be treated with equal disrespect. Use your power :P

Wouldn't know as I normally have my voice chat disabled. Shouldn't be abusing anyone on the server no matter what gender however, temporary bans should be put in place to sort people out without hesitation.
