    Any idea when these server issues will be rectified, I have started drinking more than normal this is due to the fact, I cannot shoot anyone in-game. Please help me get back online so I can kill.

    Hi,

    It's a bit hard to say. The servers (DtK + other community servers) have been under attack since the past week. There have been some improvement as the server host - Streamline have been able to identify the attacks and implement network rules to address them. Yesterday the server was fine for majority of the day till 7pm when the server experienced one of the biggest attacks since it started happening.


    The servers have had great DDOS protection for a long time but new types of attacks tend to operate differently and require time and finetuning to properly mitigate.

    If this keeps up I feel the Australian CS:Source community will perish, the server population still hasn't recovered from the server issues at the start of the year, Dust 2 DM is a ghost town now when it used to be the most popular DTK server for example. Honestly pretty sad to see.

    Considering the current geopolitical climate perhaps these DDoS attacks are a state sponsored effort, noting that this issue also seems to be plaguing other gaming communities and ICT infrastructure...

    Something else worth contemplating may be;

    What else is the data centre hosting, and is that what's really being targeted.
