New Weapon Choice Idea For Office

So a couple of us Office DM regulars had a brief conversation recently about whether or not it would be a good idea to have infinite HE grenades (Like the warmup rounds for Nilla and Gun Game) as a weapon choice but with a catch of course, if you have these infinite HE grenades you're limited to using a knife only so no handguns, golden gun or rifles etc.


I personally feel it would be a great way to add a new flavor and some chaos to the server and that with the restrictions on guns it would end up being reasonably balanced. In the end it would still be less overpowered than the AWP and excruciatingly irritating Golden Gun!

Sounds like a good idea for an event Phantom. Not sure I'm on board with it being a permanent weapon choice, if it's even possible. Get a couple of Ct's in the backyard just lobbing nades into T spawn I imagine isn't going to be much fun. Well then we just run down the back hall I hear you say. Get another CT or 2 just lobbing nades at your rear entrance and you are basically stuck there. Already T's complain about being spawn camped and have done for years.

Also I think we would have to look at reducing our nade damage to the regular damage, and I would think a few seconds delay on getting a new nade would make it a little more challenging.

As an event with random spawns it sounds like pure carnage and lots of fun for about an hour maybe 2. I'll see if I can get an event set up and we'll see how it goes. But without having tried it at this stage I'd probably vote no to it as a permanent feature. Just my thoughts.

Looking at my household calendar, my server time is going to be pretty patchy for the next few weeks as we've a lot going on, if I see if I can organise it for the 8th can someone volunteer to be duty admin? I'm 99% I won't make that one as I'll be away for the whole weekend, the 15th afterwards is a bit iffy (long weekend and the Mrs wants to take the kids camping). I can possibly try and stuff the event in for next Friday but that leaves very little time to run it past Squall, get the post together, and get it advertised.

Does anyone have ideas for preferred maps?

You don't need a mic for it, just be on the server during the event, I usually make them 8-9pm Sydney time

Just to clarify - *everyone* will be getting nades and knives, I don't think it's possible to make it a choice for players to have them or regular weapons during the same round.

I'll see if we can get 30 sticky nades and 40 throwing knives per player, if anyone survives long enough to run out of either I'll eat my keyboard.

No FFA for the first run. just normal. I would like to see the normal office dm map in the rotation though to see how it affects the game play. I reckon I could go through my ammo without dying at least once

Agree on the normal Office map, be interesting to see how bad it could possibly get for T spawn. Could be surprised and find out that it works as a better defense against the CT's that like to camp it though! Haha

Tbh I reckon everyone will sit slightly out of range and throw nades at each other, hitting nobody except Psycho and one or two other knifey types, who will then get epic frustration and flounce in colourful manners. But we'll see.
