Hi DyingToKill Community,
I find myself in the unusual situation of being banned despite not breaking a single DyingToKill rule. A friend and I decided to change our clan tags and got kicked without warning and then banned without warning for “bad troll”.
To give a bit of background and some fairness to the admin team, we were warned the night before about using the group Gaysofsource from admin pigsy because some of the content on their (which I didn't know about) was very offensive and I promptly changed it to a pro-LGBTQ+ group which is what I thought Gaysofsource was originally.
Clearly the conversation should have ended there but suddenly, I was kicked without warning by admin LeKrez and after re-joining he called me a tool for asking how I could be kicked without warning. I have no idea why anyone would take offense to a pro-LGBTQ group, other than blatant homophobia. Whilst I might not be apart of the LGBTQ community, I should be allowed to represent my support without threat of ban.
After all the above we simply threw our hands up and created our own completely harmless joke group satirising the entire situation and received a 2-hour ban.
I find all of this especially bizarre because the rules of DTK are as followed:
I cannot help but think if someone else had joined with those clan tags they would not have to go through the same amount of scrutiny as I have had too. I’m more than happy to sit down with the admin team and hopefully educate them on some more progressive viewpoints.- At DTK (Dying to Kill) we pride ourselves on game servers with very few in game rules.
- All DTK admin are instructed to only ban in extreme cases, most instances of a banning are due to a player doing something that others cannot combat.
- DTK admin are under strict guidelines, they are all aware that they do not interfere with the players that are following the very few server rules
