Well, theres only like 2 combat surf servers in Australia and one of them are ♥♥♥♥ing awful. so you's probably have a good chance to get some sort of population on it

Combat surf on source ain't the best.
What's wrong with skill surf?
used to be a surf admin when that was a thing
+1 Combat Surf is a lot of fun and there is not a lot of Combat Surf servers in Australia.

Yeah, you cannot compare skill surf and combat surf together.
Apparently your satisfied with your 2nd place blue? I'm down for combat surf over ttt these days anyways
a dedicated combat surf server for one of the last (best) remaining csgo communitys known as dtk would be a great idea
would be good, but you would need to prepare a staff team as most of the csgo combat surf community are toxic / little kids
big
Ok so I've been 100% on board for a Combat Surf reboot for a long time, I think I'm rather qualified to provide my personal input
While this is true, it doesn't mean that the opportunity to expand and create a Combat Surf server should be neglected, CSS and CSGO are very different games. Combat Surf is also very different across the two.
Skill Surf is a very different game mode, makes no sense to say this, it's like saying "why would you need Combat Surf? We have Skill Surf so that should be enough!" This is just really pointless. Each mode has a different player base too, a lot of people who play Combat Surf don't like Skill.
As Icepowered put it:
Combat Surf could potentially become a reality, but in order for it to do so the following would need to happen.
- A vocal, pre-existing dedicated player base within the community, willing to kickstart the server. This is essential as whilst a lot of people may be hyped for the server, it may not work out in the long term. e.g. Attempted JB Reboots 2015 - 2016.
- A knowledgeable admin team that are willing to ensure the server is able to compete on all levels with the existing Combat Surf servers, whilst not breaching the stipulations valve put on community servers with regards to custom content. e.g. no !ws or !knife (unless their stance on those have changed since I was last in the Surf Scene).
- A small, but classic map pool. From experience, Combat Surf maplist should be focused on QUALITY, not QUANTITY. Throwback to 2014 when I put some of the worst maps of all time on the CSS Combat Server.
If ever there was a time to reinvest in Combat Surf, now would be the time. But it is important to try and think why existing servers have shut down. If it's because they're getting blacklisted then disregard this paragraph, if it's due to a declining player base, that's another story. Back in 2016 #14 DtK Deathrun was one of the top servers in Australia, but due to neglect from the experienced admins (e.g. Myself), plus the downward spiral of popularity in the game mode itself, it eventually collapsed.
Sometimes game modes are just meant to fizzle out for some time, just to return stronger in the future.
P.S. If a Combat Surf server was established, I would definitely play. However, I would not be willing to commit myself any further than making regular appearances, and that's saying something.

I agree with Ham. As long as we have a dedicated and active admin team, an active player base within dtk, and good selection of popular maps to be chosen for a map pool, we can achieve a popular combat surf server. I would personally be willing to help and commit myself to being apart of this reboot.
Tbh I'd love to see a good combat surf server, I've not really had good experiences on a few so I tend to stay away but I'd definitely give a dtk combat surf a go.
Agree with Zuelhs on this one, it would definitely need a dedicated team
