People normally have exams around this time of year.
Exams, end of semester, school is very busy rn. That won't stop you from being able to join dtk servers where small amounts of players don't affect you... Like uh.. Cough... Surf (;
Most schools have reports coming out soon so that means a lot of tests and assiments that means more studying
'Cuz people keep playing the same map. /s

"You have no responsibility to live up to what other people think you ought to accomplish. I have no responsibility to be like they expect me to be. It's their mistake, not my failing."
I don't think there is necessarily one single reason per-say.
This is a period where exams are on, so alot of people are finding it hard for gaming. PUBG is soaring in popularity as well. This is also a period of the Steam Sale so that's one potential reason for the recent drop off.
I know that in NZ, school holidays start in a week or two, so hopefully our net will catch more players.
We've tweaked a couple of settings recently, including MZ burn time and we are working towards other changes which will hopefully improve the player satisfaction.
We're also aware of the demand for new maps and for our current maps to be running the latest version, which is more than a fair enough request so our current map pool is being looked at.
I'm hoping that any changes/updates we do are recognized by the players and everyone can still enjoy playing on Zombies.
I think it's hard to generate substantial interest by simply tweaking MZ burn time which is essentially a QOL update, albeit much needed. Maps are always great to keep fresh to avoid the server going stale. However I can't see the reason for zombies having less players due to other games, I think a new event would be much needed. There hasn't been a new event since the last map reveal event which lots of people miss looking forward to on Friday nights.
Perhaps another ongoing event is a perfect way forward with an ongoing reward system attached to keep people interested in the long term, rather than a one-off gimicky event. Ofcourse an event is not going to make the server full every day but it goes a long way.
We're talking about 2 week holidays here, not the end of year break. If historical trends are anything to go off those 2 weeks don't have a major impact, better to be proactive rather than rely on holidays.
steam sales man , got some new games to tryout. i'm sure most people do stay positive
