Current Map Rotation Discussion

G'day folks, we've been hearing a lot about maps on the server, but we need to be able to refer back to feedback given, in order to give said feedback its due attention.

This thread will have the current map rotation on the server, over some time, I will add in a thumbnail image next to each of the names, to better give you an idea of which is what.

We (the GGDM admin team) know some of you love our server as much as we do, so here's your opportunity to help us ensure that we can use your feedback the way it should be used and give it all its due attention.

What we need from you guys and girls who play on the server, is for you to go through this list and let us know which maps you think are keepers, which maps you think we should dump, with a little note as to why, please.

From my experience. These mapsbelow most people like However we should mix these maps with ones we have not played in a long time and some new maps so people dont feel like we are playing the same maps over and over.

These maps were always fun IMO and are keepers - havng said that though only reason I don't have some of the others in this list is because I cant remember what they are/don't know if I've played them.

Thanks for your input on your list there is only 4 maps that we dont already have but would be nice to get these added to the server

Even though Becca started this thread but has since has stepped down from admin, are we still looking at a map refresh?

There's definitely alot of keepers, just need to remove a few maps that are tired. This will help the Admins when they're on so they don't receive requests every time a tired/boring map comes up.

A few new maps to mix it up would be great.

Let's see if we can get a roll on with this. I'll take some time in the next week or two to get a list together and have a look at some new maps for suggestion.

I'll also start spreading word in-game, will let people know to come and have their input.

i have made a temp server up with some of the gun game server 4 maps and new one and old ones
u can go on to the server look at the map wright down the names of the maps u like and it will be put to a vote
and then we can make up 4 map list's so we can have 4 map changer's a year if you would like to have admin for the temp server add your steam id on here and i will add u so u don't have to play the map if you don't like it u can just change to the next

and at the same time add some new one's

i have some maps i will love for you all to have a look at them and see
if there are any we can add to the server or remove

i have made a temp server with some maps for the admins\players to look at and write down the ones they like and the maps with the highest votes we keep

all gun game 4 admins have admin in the temp server so they can look at the maps

Most of the time its till one of those big maps come on and the server looses half its nos but wait people (4-5?) voted for those maps right?

Thank you Dell for your concern, the people who voted were both admin and players and all of them were regularly checking the forum to see what is happening in our server. You should try this from time to time as people who do not contribute or even check obviously wont know how to vote for the new maps. There was ample time for the players to go and do this on the last rotation. as requested below is a list of current maps for everyone to see and give feed back on. We will not be removing maps because you "singularly" dont like them. It will be a majority vote win because everyone has different taste. For example, there are maps i hate that everyone else loves. they will NOT be removed just because one person didn't like them. Your feedback is most welcome but please keep this in mind after the decisions are made for the next rotation.

LOL you obviously havent played gg4dm enough
Its meant to be fast paced
Per hour whats the average amount of players on the server?
Do you feel having big maps is cool on gg4? how do you get off knife espicially on some of the long maps, people just camp the other person spawn and keep killing the person on knife...just saying. I have played on this server long enough and have seen changes from time to time and whilst i acknowledge some good changes the maps havent really changed for the better

Just saying be realistic at times, gg is all about fast paced no one wants to play big maps, it gets rtv or admin changes it most of the time.......well i guess zarco and death will change maps on winners request not sure about the others

BigDel has got a point there we should be concentrating on more of the action packed maps rather than camping types of maps the bigger the maps the more room the bee hoppers have too.

i understand what you are saying and the admin thank you for the imput. I also hate the bigger maps i prefer to knife and so i just dont play them. ALL of the admin will accept a map change request if the map is too big for the number of players. All you have to do is ask nicely, and wait for warm up to finish. Like i said i have given you the up to date complete map list, you are welcome to let us know which ones you do not like or do not want to play for whatever the reason may be. We have an open server for the players to come and comment on the new maps we are testing. This will be posted shortly. i suggest you come and have a look and have your say on what goes onto the next rotation.

Ikilled (SA lessfe269) has now opened to the players a testing server. This server is NOT a DTK playing server. it is ONLY open for the purpose of testing maps and in this capacity there are no stats or ranks for this server. We open this server from time to time to let the players look at the maps, have some short game play rounds and then can vote on what they like and dont like. Please post any maps here you have as a suggestion for the new rotation and they will be put in the test server. We have given you the opportunity now to have your say so that game play is more effective and fun for all players. Yes there are bigger smaller and wierder maps on the server but this is to give everyone a chance to explore and vote. Any thing you love can be written down and sent to an admin. you can also do this with anything you hate. We want your feedback, this is important to us and the function of ggdm server.

I've done a run through on the server and these are the maps myself and a couple of others found to be a good size, not too dark and able to be played at a fast pace. We would like to see them added the server 4.

This is just an opinion and going by what felt good.

I encourage everyone to get on and have a try of the maps.

Help the admins out by having some input.

I really hate to repeat myself but it seems people think that yelling at me in game about the maps is how it gets changed. THIS IS NOT HOW IT GETS CHANGED. like ive said above i have given a list of the current maps and explained how to get to the server to look at the new maps. You need to send me a list of the ones you like or type it here like fizzy did. same goes with the maps you want removed. I will not sit in game taking notes for people who have not even looked. I will however download maps you think would suit our server and i have already and will find maps you dont know the names for if you can give an accurate discription. this sometimes takes me a long time so please dont expect me to have a certain map if you havent given a name for it 10 minutes after you ask.

for those of you that want have input to next map change should be going on test server ...that what its there for the quicker you get on an email ikilled on the maps you want the quicker we will get a new map rotation ....until then forget changing these maps
