It all starts on Saturday
It all starts on Saturday
keen, wont be starting til monday though.
As wide as an ocean, as deep as a puddle (aka so many planets... wow.... but what to do?)
This game is so overhyped it's not funny anymore (kinda like Spore was, which turned out to be a disappointment)
if you haven't bought it already I recommend saving your money because the high pricetag for... well, here's a gameplay video. You can ignore the people if they annoy you, but this is the kind of quality "amazing" early game experience to expect

And also, the whole "universe is SOOOO BIG no one will probably meet each other... but it's MULTIPLAYER..." is a huge lie too.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AE0nuW-mQ8A (this guy makes great videos about disappointments)
(this game will hopefully teach lots of people not to pre-order, lmao)
Yet another case of developers promising the world and delivering something completely underwhelming. When I saw the devs urging players not to watch early gameplay I immediately knew what that meant.
This is certainly not worthy of it's $70 price tag.
I'm highly suspect of what the """""""""""""multiplayer""""""""""""" aspect of the game actually entails, the devs have constantly danced around the question leading up to release and we have already had instances of players being in the exact same place and not being able to see each other, although that could just be a server bug.
For all intents and purposes it is a single player game though.
There was a case where 2 players were on the same world in the same location and couldn't see each other. I would consider it a single player game.
Probably won't pick it up but if I do it'll be ~$5-$10. FOV Slider is definitely needed, looks insanely low on Console, almost something that the previous generation was running at.
You're memeing, right? (cause of le meme face) but in case you aren't, I'm gonna reply seriously.
There are multiplayer ELEMENTS - this includes naming of discoveries or whatever. However, data is not sent for player locations ("You can SEE OTHER PLAYERS... but it's such a big world...") or immediate actions such as mining or killing creatures.
As newguy said:
This was done by two redditors (who got a bit crazy, the one making the most said they "met"... but that is impossible since meeting requires seeing each other.) and I can provide the source if you wish.
Oh, I would love an awesome universe exploration game, but this isn't what was hyped up and expected. Very disappointed (this could be considered another 'Spore', which turned out much different than expected). I'm going to get into developing games soon, and this is a practice that makes me angry. Outright lies and overhyping things, and when released people see the truth, sucks. I admit I fell for the hype - when it was announced, then I forgot. Recently I started seeing some of the gameplay and realised what it really was.
I'm not trying to make people refund it if you already own it, but please, if you have not bought it, WAIT A WHILE. It's so expensive for space 'exploration'. (on a related note, Space Engine is a free universe simulator with no real gameplay, but very pretty planets and you can fly around in space and take nice background images if you want that)
thanks for reading my blog post, lol.
"This universe we’ve built is a pretty large canvas, we’ve got a lot of ideas. This is the type of game we want to be."
just about sums it up, game is basically early access at this point. probably won't buy it as is but interested to see what direction they take it in via updates, requires a lot more content for such an expensive game imo

I wont invest until I can play with friends.
Game seems worthless if I cant explore the universe with mates
I think at this point there are people that were on the hype train and those that just want to explore and see what they can find.
I await to see what I can find.
Offended, I am your friend <3
On another note, the game has much hype yes... But what I have seen so far as made me want to at least play the game a little. I love the open world exploring based games and this looks like fun gameplay and stunning graphics wise. (makes me want to upgrade my 560 xD)
