Now before I start, I'm not sure if this thread you made is genuinely serious or not KT, but I know that a few of the people commenting is serious about the possibility of JB coming back and I know that you KT, is gonna have one of the strongest voices in DtK as a past SA for both TTT and JB so I'm going to give my two cents on this.


Dying2Kill has 18 servers currently. 14 on CSGO. The merge over from CSS to CSGO is an obvious success and I'm glad it is. Is adding a 15th server going to prosper though? I know that Jailbreak was an extremely popular server for DtK on CSS and that's why I joined forums myself and many others. It's crucial that we're able to get non-member regulars on this Jailbreak server if it does end up happening because from this thread alone, I'm seeing people from different servers like Deathrun, TTT, Surf and Bhop in particular voting to bring back JB but are they actually going to sacrifice time to play Jailbreak? Maybe, but maybe not. Now people will say to get rid of an unpopulated server like office or gungame to make room for Jailbreak but that's not the issue here.



From direct observation, there are definite links between what servers people play on. People that play deathmatch, tends to stay on deathmatch/casual servers. People that play servers like TTT are most likely going to play Deathrun/Minigames/Surf/Bhop/Zombies. In my opinion, bringing in JB and if it's successful will have a negative impact on two of these servers. I've been around DtK far too long to know what could happen. And what is this negative impact? Two or more of these servers will die out as DtK Member regulars from these servers in particular, will transition over to Jailbreak because of the hype factor.


With school starting up again as well, we all know that server population is definitely going to dip down and I think we should work on sustainability for the servers we already have as it does have replayability value to it, not just Jailbreak. Overall we obviously need dedicated players and ESPECIALLY admins. I played TTT numerous times over the Christmas break and the only two admins regularly playing night in, night out was Cha$e and Life is a Highway. At this time I know for a fact that TTT had 10+ admins so where were they? I think this speaks volumes about how important dedication is and picking the right people for the job, not just because they played for 10 hours a night for 7 days just because it's holidays for them.


DtK's new casual server is a prime example of population issues. Squall has set up a great competition for this server with a fantastic prize. A choice of either Far Cry Primal or Rise of the Tomb Raider. Both priced at virtually $60 USD. I'm not going to blame anyone for the lack of population for this server as I, myself have not had any time at all to play this server, but we all have this little extra incentive to play this server in particular and a chance to win a great prize but it's honestly struggling to bring in players. I see 10+ people in the teamspeak server every night. I would've thought it wouldn't be hard to get a small regular group to play on this server for a couple of hours a night.With this in mind I'm struggling to see people from other servers to play Jailbreak regularly unless they extremely like it over the current server they most enjoy.


Trying to throw in new servers after Christmas break is an extremely risky idea and should be avoided until we can gather more statistics about server population/growth while school has started. Of course if TTT,MG,Surf,Bhop and Zombies are bringing in a full house every night then we should definitely look into more servers but at the moment that's not the case. I love Jailbreak myself and would love to see it back but if it's going to take regulars from other servers it will do more harm than good for the overall picture.

To summarise/tl;dr
Bringing back JB will almost have negative consequences. Need to make sure we actually have dedicated admins and members that will actually play and won't give in to the hype while school has started back up as most players will be under 18.

I'm sorry for bringing the mood down in this thread, but people need to see the 'potential' reality in bringing back JB. I know that this will definitely be an unpopular opinion among most of you but I can only hope I can gain a little bit of respect for taking this approach.

Why was jailbreak even gone when it looks like right now ttt admins/regulars want it back?
And then there are people that barely even play on the servers anymore, making an opinion, which is obviously completely fine
however to want a server back, and to make that statement clear in the form of a forum post or even just by making a vote, you'd need to have some sort of responsibility in making sure that the server is populated. Otherwise it'd be just a waste in resources and most importantly, time.

The tone of this thread is obviously a massive joke and not to be taken seriously at all, which I guess is fine, but it could have actually gauged much more genuine interest if done in a much more appropriate way.

Bento I am very proud of you I never knew you could be serious.

This isn't the thread to do so and I feel as if you wasted a lot of effort tbh as even when the server was being first converted to a TTT/JB hybrid, KT was very adament on the TTT server being just that, a TTT server. Jailbreak was never a positive prospect for KT and I do recall her initial promotions of admins being mainly to deal with the JB side of things so that she wouldn't have too much in-game side management for JB to perform. So it is obvious now that she is having a bit of a troll now that she doesn't have to worry about upholding a positive image as a Senior Administrator. It is an obvious joke and the amount of "I'm a Loser" votes suggest that not everyone is keen on Jailbronk anyway.

I like how people get together and do things like this. I remember this one time, people made threads just like this asking for a server and we complied but when the server went up, these same people either 1. did not even play on the server or 2. expected other people to put in the work and populate the server and only then would they play. Oh now I remember clearly, this was the 1st CS:GO Jailbreak server.

CS:GO JB DID NOT EXIST. After the 1st DtK CS:GO JB went down due to lack of interest as mentioned above, there hasn't been another DtK CS:GO JB server. I could have made TTT a standalone server but that would had a negative impact on a new DtK CS:GO JB server. TTT was only added to the upcoming JB server to boost numbers and essentially create a player base that would splash over to JB. - not the other way around.

This isn't fair to the admins at all, especially since the entirety of your statement is based on what you see when YOU were on the server.

Point being made here is that you are not on the server enough nor do you have access to information that will help make a valid statement about any TTT admins. You mention seeing 2 admins often which is true because these admins play alot on TTT. These are Life is a Highway's total hours the past few weeks - [54,54,29]. In comparison this is another TTT Admins hours the past few weeks - [8,8,9]. With 54 hours spent on the server a week, the probability of a player seeing this admin is very high. If a admin can spend 54 hours on the server, this does not become the standard for every other admins out there. Being a JA is a non-paid voluntary position, ideally we expect our admins to spend at the minimum an hour each day on the servers. If they can spend more, it's a good thing for the server however this does not mean that the admin spending more time on the server is necessarily more committed or better admin than those spending lesser timer.

You did make a fair point about admins being committed to their servers, which I agree with however your reasoning and method for alienating other TTT admins as less dedicated / not dedicated was very flawed and unfair.

This was expected however as mentioned it was set up mainly to serve as a practice server for upcoming competitions/tournaments. Maybe it will see more traffic once the competitions are in progress.

I figure I should give my honest opinion on this instead of being a twat since people have put a lot of effort into responding.

Honestly I use to enjoy Jail Break but when there are only 1 or 2 other people putting effort into a server staying up and being populated it gets tiring, yes I would have liked a TTT/JB server or a stand alone JB server but after last time and the effort people bothered to put in it seemed more harm than good. Everyone was happy with a TTT server its regularly populated and the hype of it being new should have worn off by now so that we see the servers regular player base, adding JB to it at the time seemed to the TTT admin team and I like it could jeopardize what we had already grown and we weren't willing to risk it for a server we had already seen have a promise from so many people to play input from so many on the forums yet most didn't even put a minute in a week and I know for a fact we tried to get players on Jail Break.

I know when DtK first trialed a CS:GO JB server a lot of things didn't work properly due to not everything being ported over to cs:go and this caused a lot of hesitation for people to play the server, but with the amount of support shown before hand and people saying they "wanted" the server and would regularly play nothing became of it because just because people say they want something doesn't mean they will put effort into it which has been shown to me time and time again since I joined this community.
Half of you are like Oh yeah JB is great lets do it, but that's all it will be from you thinking something is great isn't enough to sustain a server, it needs admins and dedicated players not just from the DtK community, there are multiple already established CS:GO JB servers in aus/nz so what would make them join ours, what would bring them in, will it be because the server has population, would you be that population and for how long a day a week or not at all.

I know I made this thread and I'm sorry for that, I genuinely would want a Jail Break server for DtK and I would put in effort for it, but after the end of DtK's JB server I just don't see it being a positive experience. All the effort put in by Squall and other Admins would not be fair for the likely out come of the server.

No one has any responsibility to the server so yes having your say now and wanting Jail Break back is all good, but you don't have responsibility to the server, it has to be your choice to put effort in and do you know that you really can or will or would the server be a waste in time.

Ham is wrong in saying I was very adamant on TTT just being TTT, yes I had made comments about TTT being better mainly because my experience with Jail Break had tired me out, Yes I loved JB I put in a lot of effort to try and fix it and so did a few other players but that was all and it wasn't enough. When you put enough effort into something and it gets no where its disappointing and Ham has heard all that from me, I wanted to give up on JB because it wasn't fun when no one was putting effort in, but in saying that you never saw the conversations I had with Squall or the other Admins about it, so yes I did show dislike towards it but I didn't really want to let it go I was just tired.

I told Squall before the TTT/JB server went up I would probably only remain SA for a couple of months just to help with the initial push to get the server started and populated which is why I started playing less so Bento when you say TTT admins weren't active except two (even though Squall already explained this) I know I wasn't on the server as much as i should have been most weeks I was getting 7-8 hours unless I had previously explained I wouldn't be. Not all admins are around during the Christmas break and anyone who wasn't on the server regularly had already explained why they wouldn't be, I was looking after the TTT admins activity and in that time there was only 3 times an admin didn't get all their hours in a week without explaining 3 times across 2 months with 10 admins and I know when I was JB admin the activity from the admins was not there most the time all I can say is the current TTT admin team is extremely dedicated you don't see everything they do on and off the server so it does speak volumes for how amazing they are and I'm pretty proud of them.

Any how as much as I'd love a DtK CS:GO JB server from past experiences is it really worth it, to see the server go no where and have no population? Its not enough for people to say they will play, its already been proven they won't.
