Thread: Urgent issues with the deathrun server

    Urgent issues with the deathrun server

    Hello,

    I've been playing on the deathrun server for a while now and I have some information to report about the quality of the server.

    ISSUES:

    Firstly, unlike other servers, your deathrun requires someone to manually join the T side to activate the traps. This may be intentional, however it leads to some maps being played without a T for multiple rounds and is not fun to have.

    Secondly, there are 0 active admins on the server. In the 2 weeks I've been playing on it, of which I spend 2-3 hours+ a day on the server, I have never seen a single admin on the server. We are having an issue with a cheater who comes onto the server to use cheats such as spinbotting (not an issue) but also AirStuck (he can freeze midair and bait out traps) its not fair and yet nothing is done about it.

    Thirdly, the majority of the maps, about 75%, are spawning the CTs where the Ts are meant to be.

    Broken maps include:
    deathrun_deluxe_csgo_v2
    deathrun_aztecan_csgo_v1
    deathrun_simpsons_ff
    deathrun_family_guy_mgw5
    deathrun_st0ner_familly
    deathrun_snowstone

    and many more which I can't think of off my head.

    SUGGESTIONS:

    Add a deathrun-specific admin, there are many candidates for admins which I see frequently on the server

    Add a credits and store system.

    Add more maps as the pool is too small at the moment.

    Auto-allocate a T to activate the traps

    Add in a rank system

    Thank you for your time, and don't take this the wrong way, I really enjoy the server and its great that the deathrun server has formed a small community and we have regular players who are always on, its just that there are many ways to improve our experience.

    EDIT: There is also an exploit that, if you kill someone with the first trap as a T, he can reconnect to the server and be alive again, hence rendering the first trap useless

    Demo the cheaters upload them and they will be dealt with.

    Curious about the Simpsons map due to Another brought the map problems to our attention and he said Simpsons was fine.

    -All maps were tested and confirmed to be working when the server went online. If the maps are not working or teams are not being auto-assigned, it's very likely the latest CS:GO update has something to do with it.

    -New maps will be added today/tomorrow and old maps re-tested to see what the issue is.


    -There are no admins on the Deathrun server. It is only recently that Deathrun has started to establish a playerbase, so it is likely new admins will be appointed as well. We are on the lookout for active and mature individuals for admin roles.


    - The 'hacker' has been banned. Please in the future report hackers or such incidents on the forums to either a [C]ouncil or [S]taff member or submit a ban request on dtkbans.com. Alternatively for other rule breakers, use !votemenu which will allow players to voteban,votekick and votemute.

    Thank you for testing the old maps and looking into the deathrun server.

    Side note: Attempted to use !votemenu as a test to see if it even exists, its not a command. !voteban !votekick etc. come with a message saying 'insufficient permissions'.

    Problem #1: Votemute doesn't mute.
    The age demographic on the deathrun server is low, 11-15, and therefore many of the players do not act maturely and the votekick, votemute and voteban functions are not correctly being used. They are being used on players that are arguing against each other rather than people doing something worth ban.

    Problem #2:
    As soon as player is allocated T, they instantly switch to CT. Once again, people are reluctant to play as T so it cycles through instant rounds of the T dying. This can be detected with something as simple as checking if the T dies in first 5 seconds. How this would be dealt with is something I would not know.

    Fix?
    I would suggest fixing the votemute as well as adding a cooldown to calling votes.
    OR
    remove system and add in moderators

    Problem/Suggestion #3:
    Its not too bad, but the maps can be stale due to two favourite maps, hot_desert and ice_world being played in a rotation and nothing else ever been chosen. From the new maps added, I've only ever played one and the variety is something which is nice to have.

    Fix?
    Add a map cooldown where it, after being played on, can't be chosen for the next 5 maps.

    i agree with everything but map cooldown , but maybe just because i like desert_hot and ice_world too much

    the server DESPERATELY needs votemute, the rank 1 player's name is csgo music and he just spams musc over mic...
