Autoselect team

So i have noticed lately that quite a few peeps tend to spam team selection, or they just sit there and wait for someone to go on the team they don't wish to be on and then select T's or CT's.

On D2, this appears to be a bit of an issue as quite a few folks want to be Terrorists, perhaps because they have a slight advantage on D2 so it makes it easier to get kills, hard to say, i am just guessing.

So i am wondering it is possible to trial automatic selection of teams. particularly if there is more than 1 spectator?
I get that we don't want to mess with the gameplay much, and that is what DTK prides itself on, but having 6+ spectators all waiting to go Terrorists can be a tad annoying when the server is full.....

I like the idea and it would be great to see more people play CT but the problem is is that people don't co-operate. This issue is with any type of control. What I see happening is if players want to play T, they will sit there and wait until a spot is free.. if they're forced to go CT as soon as they spawn they will just either change team manually, leave, or mass retry until they get T. Sad but true.

Only people who always wanna go T are the ones who wanna AWP from Tspawn or pits. They're easy to avoid so if that's all they can do, I'm usually happy to play tunnels as CT.

Well the biggest issue i have seen was recently (perhaps this only happens in the holidays??) when the server is nearing full you get in and find 10+ people waiting to go T, I waited a few seconds to see if people were perhaps just waiting to connect but of course nope they were there in spectator waiting for someone to go CT so they could go T.
I pretty much almost always just press autoselect, and wouldn't you know it the second after I went CT someone filled the gap of T.

Anyhow, just a suggestion. I get that its not an easy thing to fix but yeah just a thought :-)

Yeah something like that. More just to get people playing the game rather than sitting as a spectator all the time. Though, now that I think about it, there could be a real need to be spectator (e.g to observe a potential hacking in progress). So autoselecting without giving the opportunity to spectate may be a bit of an issue...

I often sit as spectator for entire games watching people play for various reasons(either I have suspicions, or I want to see where they tend to hide and how they tend to play). I wouldn't want to be forced into playing when I don't want to.

Only way I see that it could work is to remove the CT and T options from selection screen and just have Auto select available. That way people are free to spec as long as they want. I personally wouldn't endorse this.

I choose auto select myself, on any map, but I'm fairly certain that one of the things that make DtK great is that we allow people to choose what they want to be, how they want to play, and what guns they get to use, and I don't think that will be taken away. I could be wrong but I don't think so.

That is quite the Reasoning there Walker, as for playing only CT vs only T or both as some others might tend to do ( i do for one whenever i actually play xD), there could be an option to auto Spectate like add a command to force yourself into spectate like you could with Cs:s (!spectate) and then do it that way where in the Cs:s Office you can spectate and report ect,

Although some People do prefer to play one side, i find it might improve them and other might find the game more fun if it auto selects

Main reason behind this as i have found in past that all the good players join one team and then all the lower levels are stuck with the baddish players (no offence to anybody) and then it sorta makes the game unfair and not as nice to play.

i cannot really comment that much due to being TTT admn and i suck really badly because i only play a comp here and there and then spray with a p90 like a scrub,

but coming from a Background of Black Hawk Down and Joint Operations game play where it basically evens out the teams and no advantages really happen from any spawn point, and the game is just fair from there,
