As you have probably seen, we are looking at starting the dev team back up.
I am looking for dedicated people who possess skills such as mapping, graphic design, sound development, modeling and video editing who want to give something back to the community that gives so much.
We are looking at working on a few collaborative projects in 2016 and I really need people who are willing to dedicate their time to helping us complete these projects for the community to enjoy.
The last time we had the dev team up and running, there was a lot of interest from people who either didn't possess any development skills or were too lazy to use them. Needless to say, after last time, the joining requirements have changed.
Requirements to join
If you wish to join the development team, you will need to nominate (in your application form) whether you possess any of the following skills, and rate them with novice, intermediate or expert.
- Mapping
- Graphic Design/Texture Design
- Sound development
- Video editing
- Modeling
- Programming
I will go through what is expected from each so give you a clear indication as to what we are looking for.
Mapping
We are looking for novice level (minimum) to join our ranks. This involves being able to build a complete map from start to finish (skybox, brushes, entities, lighting etc).
The ability to optimize is highly desirable.
Graphic design/texture design
We are looking for people who have an intermediate understanding of photoshop (minimum). The ability to create recurring pattern textures, real maps and create VMT files for the textures is highly desirable. If you are unsure of what a VMT file is, pm me and I am happy to point you in the right direction.
Sound development
In all honesty, I have no clue when it comes to sound development. What we really need is someone who can skillfully convert sound files to suit CS:GO; keeping in mind quality and size.
The ability to create sound FX and custom music would be a major bonus.
Video editing
We are looking for a video editor to create teasers for our content, and full release videos (including gameplay shots) for our public releases to help get DTK's name out there again.
You will be responsible for creating content that will hype players and create a hunger to play our content.
Modeling
This is pretty straight forward. We are looking for someone who can create custom props in programs like blender, and export them for use on CS:GO. The props should be mindful of their file size and the quality of textures, as well as how they reflect their environment etc.
Programming
We are looking for someone who is fluent in C#/C++ for work on the SourceMod Plugin. These skills will be used to lock down our maps so no outside communities can use them (until we official release them to public) and to potentially create mods that will be used on existing servers, or new servers all together.
