I'm Mr Burns, blah blah blah.
Best thing I reckon is to dual boot your PC. I have two PC's anyways but for those that only have one its awesome having a dual boot system to have one hard drive/partition for all your regular computing and another hard drive/partition for gaming. My gaming PC only has a fresh copy of Windows 7, no updates, no anti-virus, no firewall, no nothing apart from just a wonderful collection of games. Although getting the VAC error once after the steam repair I haven't had it since.
I think it's honestly pretty shitty that steam has rekt itself this way by causing SO many problems for many people, I've read countless posts of people being in competitive gaming and mid game being kicked due to VAC errors. Fk VAC, I'm still banning hackers left right and center so it's obviously not doing it's job anyways, why wreck it for all the honest gamers too? Booooo steam booooooooooooooooooo!
I knew there was a reason I didn't upgrade to Win10 yet hahahaha
my time of silently laughing at u all has come 2 an end, i c ur pain and it makes me sad
it has been so long since ive surfed, ive forgotten the feel of the wind and the salt of the water hitting my face, the smell of the sea is now foreign to me...
I am finished
nvm fixed it get rekt noobs all i did was restart the game xddddd

Just noticed there's a steam update today. I fail to see in the changelog: 'Fixed the vac error we caused that's fked off every gamer in our database'. Pity.
now i got it too .... ebola
Ive been fine for the last few weeks, then this evening while in d2....
AGAIN
And again! Just started happening.
FML
Probably worsens when game updates are released.
yeah man i just wanna join the server
y'know
wanna CLIMB sum shit but nah i cant cos aidzzzzzzzzzz
thanks vac
For me I've found that nothing works but time. I'll get that VAC error, do nothing other than wait like 5-10mins, connect again, everything is fine. Weird.
This solution always works for me
Exit Steam.
Click Start > Run (Windows Key + R)
Type the following command:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\bin\SteamService.exe" /repair
(If you have installed Steam to another path, please replace C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam with the correct path.)
This command requires administrator privileges and may take a few minutes.
Launch Steam and test the issue again.
I get this quite a bit too, really annoying, though sometimes I take it as a sign I should go outside and do something else for a while.
Not sure, by "go outside and do something else" I really meant "lie in the corner and sob"....
