hey guys n girls, so I just started playin a bit of cs go yesterday and kept getting called out for "smurfing", ive never heard the term on source.. can someone please enlighten me as to what it means..lol cheers Derty

Smurfs date back to around Warcraft times.

It simply means that higher level people make a new account and rank to a lower level to make the game easier for themselves.

There are legitimate reasons for Smurfing... Like if someone wanted to play with multiple people but said person's rank was too high. He'd create a smurf account so that he can play with them.

Mostly in CS:GO smurfing is just another way to be a dickhead.

I'm sure this has been explained already, but Smurfing is the activity of one person of a certain ability to playing on another account where you play against people who are, let's say, "less able" than you with regards to fragging. Although this term is excessively used within the CS:GO era, people generally think that "smurf" is cheating. Due to cheaters being within the game, people hate losing, so people smurf to have the enjoyment of destroying "less able" players (: I, actually have 2 smurfs, due to wanting to have enjoyment of beating "less able" players. You will get called out for cheating occassionally, which is fine but is sad that the community of counter strike is coming to this conclusion.
