Sign ups are now open for DtK Server League 2014-2015

There always been a certain degree of competitiveness among the DtK Servers but never really been an opportunity for the servers to prove themselves to be the best in an official capacity. The continuation of the following tournament mentioned below will help to finally determine which is DtK's Best Server.


However in order for this tournament to be successful, we need to see who are interested, we need YOU to get the word out, we need you to rile up your troops, we need YOU to signup and also get other people to sign up. Use the signup form and tell us which server you would like to represent ( you have 3 preferences)

DtK Server Vs Server League [Start late December 2014/ January 2015 - End 2015]

This will be an ongoing league where DtK Servers' will battle it out 5 vs 5 war/scrim style on #8 DtK PUG Server (a round will also be played on CSGO) each week.

- This competition will be open to everyone (non members included)
- Players who have gametime on the server will be given preference to represent the server over those without any gametime
- There will be restrictions on players playing on consecutive weeks. E.g a player who plays on Week 1 may not be permitted to play on Week 2. This is being done so everyone gets a chance to represent their server and participate.
- This will be a points based league - showing up for matches will result in a few points, winning a match will result in a few points, not showing up for a match will result in loss of points. It is very important for your server to be organized and punctual, so work with the server admins in ensuring you are always gaining points and not losing points. Towards the end of the year, Server's with most points will qualify for the semi-finals and then the finals.

A volunteer will be chosen from each server to represent the server and help manage the matches. Server admins will decide on this rep.


Please get EVERYONE to sign up. Players should be able to type !signup and get directed to this thread from the next server restart (5am tomorrow), so please encourage your fellow server friends to sign up!

I usually am keen to participate in these kind of things, Social comp or server league... However i can't help but feel people aren't showing up to social comp games because its Source.
My team have literally only played 1 actual game of Social Comp and 1 "Practice" match. Considering how many games we should've played that's an absolute joke.
I can't help but feel that this will be the exact same. However hopefully not...

I've still signed up... But just hoping its not the same old shit.

If you want to go by facts - 1st 3 weeks of Social comp on CSS saw matches actually being played. 1st 3 weeks of Social comp on CSGO has been all forfeits with teams not showing up.

They're just facts without any proof as to why it's consistently occurring. I find as if your reasoning to why this is a common issue is more towards the players affection towards cs:s rather than cs:go. You've mentioned that the 1st 3 weeks of the Social comp on CS:GO has been all forfeits with teams not showing up due to the 'hate' of them game (imo). The Social Comp is running through some tough period for people who may be undergoing HSC/end of year exams who won't be available in a few weeks time. There's always barriers but you can't just say it's due to the liking & disliking towards either game if you were intending that.

the first 3 weeks of css we had 2 forfeits and there were 3 extra teams. as kao said people are not only undergoing HSC exams but the 2 weeks of breaks (due to maintenance) but there were multiple people not even signing up because of the fact it was on css. Btw it hasn't even been week 3 yet.

You are missing the whole point of the post. It wasn't about why people were not playing matches. (end of year exams,hsc etc are common knowledge). It was using the reasoning of 'people are not playing BECAUSE of CSS' by Dj Dyl Star. Which isn't valid considering some teams have been consistently showing up for matches. (Lions,Wolves has shown up for all their matches including CSS). You can't say 'people aren't showing up to social comp games because its Source' when people signed up knowing matches would be played on CSS. Don't blame the game. If people were actually committed and cared about this community competition there would be players signing up regardless of the game being played. And yet again it is being forgotten that the competitions are on both CSS and CSGO.

A lot of the DtK members have moved on from css and now play csgo. The reason the players left is because C:SS is 10 years old.

Well I'm keen for either. I think a crossover of both formats is a fairly decent idea. Perhaps people need to remember where this all stemmed from. CS:GO is more and more becoming the dominant format of Counterstrike, but it started somewhere. I see no problem with paying some respect or ode to that fact. Just get in, enjoy the games and have fun. Crossover of formats actually evens the playing field to a degree. But please remember onr thing, this comp is more about some inhouse fun between servers. More about players having fun than being competitive gamers. Yes we all want to win, but not at the cost of friendships and relations. Just get in and have fun. Leave all of the political crap at the door.
