Dust2 scout comp

Hey all,
We would like to welcome everyone to participate in the Dust2 scout competition!
The way this is going to run is simple,
STEP 1: Register either your ingame name or Steam ID on this thread
STEP 2: Go on dust2dm (connect 119.252.190.39:27158) and start shooting!
The winner will be determined by a basic point system.
1 point will be awarded for every kill.
2 points for a headshot.
The maximum points you can earn in a single kill is 3 points (1 for the kill and 2 for the hs)
Registration will close on Thursday 23rd October at 9pm
The competition will start on Friday 24th October and closes at 9pm (QLD time) on the 31st October.
Competition is open for anyone who is registered on the forums.

Option #1 Anything on the steam store which can include games/software etc up to the total value of $75.
Option #2 $75 WoW or EB Games gift card
Option #3 Anything the player desires from www.amazon.com up to the total value of $75 i.e headset, keyboard, mouse, games etc etc

3rd Prize (Courtesy of Button) - One of the following options

Option #1 Anything on steam which can include games/software etc up to the value of $30

Chivalry: Medievil Warfare

Awarded by random to a registered player who gets 25+ kills with the scout. (First, second and third place are ineligible to receive this prize)

Groups have been finalized - they cannot be changed

Killing bots does not count towards points for the comp

Since headshot points are already calculated at x2, simply halve your headshot score below to work out how many headshot's you have in total for the comp up until the last update.

To make things a little more interesting for the final stretch of the comp the next updated leaderboard will be the final update when the comp ends tomorrow night (There won't be an update today). This way it will keep everyone guessing and keep people on their toes and on edge right up to the final second of the comp!

The last day of the comp will sure to be intense and nail biting!

I just want to thank everyone who participated in the scout comp. We had a lot of people involved which was really great and there probably hasn't been so many scouts used on the server, ever! So thank you all for being a part of this great event. We will be sorting the prizes out tomorrow and hopefully have the winner of the participation prize announced sometime this weekend. So please stay tuned!

I would also like to invite anyone to provide any feedback they have about what they liked/disliked about the comp and new ideas about future comps for the server whether it be new weapons or a completely different style of comp.

Okay I'm not sure why I PM'd you instead of just posting here - but here's my idea for making the next scout comp more fair, since some people raised concerns that the comp was biased towards those who had more time to play. I would love for more comps like this because I think the scout is an awesome weapon and should be promoted more!

Instead of just going by points, we should divide the number of scout kills by the amount of time each person spent on the server during the competition, and whoever has the highest ratio wins. Thoughts?

Well a comp really doesn't work properly without the initial idea (thank you Delta), donations (thank you Delta and Button) and also the people who participated in the comp to make it fun and exciting. So overall it was a team effort and no one alone could have made this comp as good as it was. Everyone helped in their own way and that's what made it awesome.

Replying on the behalf of a non-forum regular Dust2 Dm player "Kynarllbear" (Aka Booshti's #1 fan) in terms of feedback for future comps. He mentioned that if the comp was during school holidays he would have had more time to participate in the comp. Another great point to take in to consideration in future.

There's a lot of people I would like to thank, But there's one in particular who wouldn't of had made this possible if it wasn't for his hard work and his amazing loyalty to this server

Booshti is a top bloke ;P Because his always there *instantly* helping me out when I need something, and not only me, EVERYONE!
Booshti has gone above and beyond with this competition, and his always doing a fine ass job at making people happy and bringing a different atmosphere to our server. In the future I wish we could show him our appreciation
