well dtk, pretty straight forward what do you prefer to play, Dota 2 or League of Legends. State your reasons why, im not so familiar with LoL so illl like to hear why its so good. if im convinced enough i will install :P

GG thread, I knew it will turn out into a Dota vs LoL flame war. Always happens.

Does the game seperate accidental dc's / real life from 'rage quits, or troll quits' in terms of giving out punishments / when recieving a report.

Recently, Valve differentiate server crash down and ragequits. I dont know about your accidental dcs, in Dota you do get 5 minutes before you abandon after leaving a game you can reconnect in that 5 minutes and resume playing (only if the people in your game is kind enough to pause for you, so you countdown doesnt go), if you abandon, you will get punished, but if you abandon for the first time in a while, it just goes to your record and once more consecutive abandons come, then you get punished.

I played some dota2 with a few friends, so much trolling possibilities it was just hair pulling to play. (Especially with the carrier thing that replaced the recall function that could be controlled be the entire team, ping spamming... etc)

The trolling is only in your tier, you're with people who dont know how to play and are casuals. Once you deal with it, past through it, and you will hardly see them again =/

That vid is kinda taking what im saying out of context too.. considering it's a 5v5 professional game not just a solo queue norm/ranked game.

I'm just using it as an example of a strategy. High tier pubs don't do this, but they do Level 1 Rosh before creep spawns.

Plus the ability to lose money but not items on death just seems pointless (all ye doing is reinforcing the idea to buy items and not let money stack, when people do this already to benifit stats... unnecessary punishment).

How would teams get an upper edge when a team is farmed? They won't be able to get a chance unless they kill them and make them lose gold, which they get to keep up with the game.

The turret mechanics are abit bizarre, same with creep countering but still fine.

The turrent mechanics works fine, so you want to be able to dive towers and kill heroes? The towers draw agro to you once you right click a hero, you can right click an ally creep to get that agro of you.

I play neither. I have been told to play LoL, and have played a few games. While it doesn't seem like a completely terrible game, I find no fun in it, and I much prefer spending my time clicking on circles.

But the most off-putting bit is no doubt, the communities associated with each game. You can never even go to a thread that even mentions either of the two games without reading 3 pages of arguments.

I'm surprised that not much professional Dota players are in the list. There are some, but there's also a lot of pub players. The highest so far is Wagamama's 6823 MMR.

Both of the games have strength and weaknesses, really it all adds up to personal preference - I personally rather dota because the mechanics tickle my fancy whereas after playing league of legends for around (guessing) 3 years it's gotten extremely boring for me and repetitive, I'm sure dota will too after awhile.

(inb4 you're not even good at LoL)
