Changes to being CT

Recently there has been a lacking of players willing to !guard up and join the ct team, this inevitably kills server population, as most of you would know. Therefore in an effort to increase people joining ct and the overall population there have been a few changes made and most likely more to come in the next few weeks and months.

The changes that have been implemented are;

The Removal of the !guard function, to join ct manual swap. please take into account that the ratio is 1CT-3T.

The Removal of the Whitelist ingame. The Whitelist will only be used for players who receive a CT ban, and they will be unbanned on the completion of the test (unless the ban is severe and the act was done on purpose, eg. mass freekilling, etc. at admins discretion).

Please note that due to these changes new players are able to go CT straight away, THIS DOES NOT GIVE YOU THE RIGHT TO ABUSE THEM.

Instead of automatically abusing CT's for rule breaking, lack of knowledge etc, try suggesting ways for them to improve and or to try playing on Terrorist for a while first to get used to our server. Remember, we want to encourage new players to keep coming back and or even bring a mate or two on their next visit.

Really positive stuff. I am looking forward to what the server activity might be.
We will also have some old-school drama where a rand comes on and freekills.
They were funny times cos you could always pick who they were and we used to play bets on when the epic freekilling would happen.
Whitelist responsibilities will go down, but teambans reviews will go up.
If it pulls in a bit of lols from time to time, as well as server population, i say bring it on.

I would love to see expressions from SA's for EMs to step up to the plate (on certain servers) if they see someone blatantly breaking the rules in such a way.

As the old saying goes, demo or it didn't happen.
So, I'll take this opportunity to remind everyone, when you play JB, get in the habit of recording a demo, EVERY round.

This way, if someone does come in mass free killing etc while there's no admins on the server, you have the demo to submit to sourcebans to help ensure they don't get to do it again.

For those who don't know how to do it, it's very very easy.

1. Open your in game console pressing the ` button.
2. Type: record <insert demo name without brackets>
3. To stop recording, again, open your console, then type: stop
The demo will automatically be saved into your *\Steam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Source\cstrike directory.
4. Upload the demo file either directly to sourcebans with the ban request submission, or onto a 3rd party file sharing site like (for example) mediafire.

i respect the admins descions but not every single admin can be active or atleast one being playing at the time of the server having a freekiller/troll or whatever a potential person would swap over to CT, enjoy the amount of CT bans that will need to be placed onto people -- Not everyone will record a demo and therefore action cannot or wont be taken to the person at hand, however, its different.

Well, Negative Nancy, this is why I just posted earlier reminding people to and how to record a demo ... there's not much else that can be done other than encouraging and teaching people how to help themselves and everyone else enjoy their time on the server. =)

Who says the current White listed CT's don't free kill / troll when Admin's aren't on anyways? You're making it seem like this is some troll-free Elite list. It isn't.

From my experiences on a few servers, anybody wardening (monitored) has been really effective and anybody can have a go. It promotes population, people will want to stay on the server longer and learn to warden and have fun doing so. Then if they break any major rules (for example, killing all T's, then CT ban them for however long).

If this doesn't work out, it can all be reversed. Can the people stop giving shitty remarks. The {SA} is trying to make the server a better place and they need feedback, not nonsense like "Won't work, gg server" etc.

This could be the case, but... You know how to demo so this problem aspect doesn't affect you. Nearly all the regulars have at least 1 admin in their friends list and hopefully soon enough we will get stv aswell. Heck, even when I was a neo unranked randoms asked me what to do and now quite a few know how to demo surprisingly.

This is where !cp comes in handy. If there is mass killing while admins aren't on then players can take the matter in to their own hands.

I also agree with cody, people may know how to record a demo, but people don't record everysingle map that they play on, the only people I really know who does that is the admins.
