Verbal Abuse on Servers (mainly towards kids)

Hello community, I have been playing on DTK servers for about a year now, and I have noticed large hate and abuse towards kids with mics, look I know there annoying and maybe infuriating some, but these guys are 12,8,11,9 there still kids, and to bully them and abuse them is something not right, I certainly don't know anybody who goes down the street as swears at someone for not having a deep enough voice to speak, then why do it online, because there not 'mature' enough, look its there parents decision, not casual rand who hates prebs, and if you don't like them using there mic, mute them, it is as simple as that, you don't need to start to talk sexually about his/her mother or swear at him,her. Just mute them and thats that. I just thought it should brought to the attention of community as it is ridiculous to bully kids, thats honestly sad in my opinion. I just thought this should be brought to attention as they are kids.

But yeah i agree with ya mate, I dont see the big fuss about kids on the mic other than the usual ones who put theirs too close to their mouths or the screamers. Although by right the community has no obligation to filter their language for the sake of children due to the game's age restriction, it would still be the humane thing to do to make em feel welcome. After all, theyre still just kids. No matter what the parents' decision was I wouldn't be a cruel SOB on a child.

Generally the younger ones don't know what's going on and usually just talk random shit. They also spam the mic like their talking to a person non-stop and make random noises and can be rather annoying. Often the squeaky tone they give off hurts your ears (as often it's a laptop mic) and it's all around terrible xD.

However, there is no reason for them to be excluded unless they break server rules. You can always mute them in player-list or turn the sound down / off.

I always assumed that preb voices are perceived as annoying due to the higher pitch drowning out the lower pitched ones. Its like your ears automatically focus on higher pitch sounds than the latter. For example, your mind seems to focus more on a snare drum than the bass drum.

I don't mind some preblings but to be honest probably 7 out of 10 are annoying & do & say annoying sheet

I Know that they can be annoying (aswell as myself) and usually politely asking them to be quiet works, if not you can put up a mute or ask an admin to if it gets to the point where he starts getting abused.

If ANY person is being abused you can demo it (console, record namehere) and send it into sourcebans, and the appropriate admin will deal with it.

I think people who abuse people with high pitched voices with out provocation are wankers. If they aren't mic spamming or talking shit, then leave them alone and let them enjoy the game, rather than abusing their self confidence down to boost your own.

Met a lot of prebs on MG and Zombies. I know for a fact that there are those that are mic spanmers and annoying brats and there are those who are cool and funny. Thus there is no valid reason to categorize all kids under 15 as annoying and muteworthy

Generally, I just ask them politely to start typing instead. Seems to the trick majority of the time, if not, mute them from player list or get an admin..easy peasy

It is not made for kids under the age of 15. If they are going to play the game, they shouldn't use their mic. Just my view.

I agree, but what's strange is, when I was 11 (a while ago, FYI), I was never teased because of my age. The world has changed though. :c

It's more to do with people knowing you are young and this idea that all prebs are bad that seems to plague everyones mind, which is probably just due to the player bases of popular games like call of duty giving a really bad image to all other gamers under the age of 15. (There are some other examples but thats probably the best one)

Makes sense that people just jump to the conclusion a preb must be a bad thing based off of this, but I think that this kind of thinking is just unfair and judgmental and It is usually just leads to older players bullying anyone under a certain age ingame which bothers me and apparently alot of other players!

Look to be put simply, if a player (kid or not) is using the mic and if there not doing anything wrong (attitude, swearing, spamming etc...) then there should be no abuse what so ever, underage gamings gonna happen, its just when the 14 year finally turns 15 and starts to say 'hey look I am playing this game legally, your not! (insert krusty laugh)'. 90 percent of us did underaged gaming, cut the kids that are some slack. If you simply can't stand high voice ♥♥♥♥ing mute them in player list, don't wail on them as if they smashed your 2000 $ gaming rig, just mute them (or swear without mic enabled ), If you think its okay to make fun of kids thats really sad, esspecially when your alot older and should be more mature than that, THANK YOU FOR YOU TIME. :P
