Saints Row IV banned in Australia :( at the moment

Found this out just a few minutes ago , they are working on a cut down version of the game which should be alright.

In the Board’s opinion, Saints Row IV, includes interactive, visual depictions of implied sexual violence which are not justified by context.

In addition, the game includes elements of illicit or proscribed drug use related to incentives or rewards. Such depictions are prohibited by the computer games guidelines.

To the people who are buying the game, what do you think about this?

Consoles aren't region locked? Or are they? Just buy it online?

Consoles are region locked. Australian consoles are PAL and american consoles are NTFC.

Steam is american though so my guess is that the version you download from steam is the american version which is R18+ unless they use a specific file coding to not allow us to download that content.

Even if steam wont allow us to get the american version theres always torrents which I most likely will be downloading it from

If you buy it from the Australian steam store, you will get the cut version (like L4D2)

If I get the game I'll probably go to a CD-Key site, using keys from the other countries should give the uncut version

games like mortal kombat were legalized here when it came that had ripping peoples spines out and chicks with 90% of there tits out...

This is a regular occurrence in anime,lol.
Not sure why games should be treated differently.

if their description is correct, I can see why they banned it, though I have no experience with the series whatsoever so i could be very much wrong.
