Animals not feeling pain is a silly argument.
We test stuff on animals there is research with animals pain levels...
There is government acts regarding testing and what levels of pain is acceptable...
How do we know what levels of pain a animal feels?
Same way we know behaviour of atoms, cells, DNA it's called observation and its what science is based on.
We can't talk to DNA and say " hey there DNA what do you do? But we still know how it works.
