Random lag spikes HALP D:

Yea well recently as im playing counter strike or any game on the internet, i get these lag spikes for a second or two then when it stops it catches up really quick like the voice on css or skype. Its getting really annoying because I get killed by noobs and they think theyre mlgpro, its been happening for a couple days now and i havent changed any settings...

help pls

You're just gonna have to check EVERYTHING. Cables, modem and then ring up your ISP company and see if they can find any faults.

Exact same for the past few weeks ping randomly goes to 100-200 and stays there a while. I'm also with Telstra

It's very likely that your downstream frequency is congested and the problem can be fixed by changing the frequency. (ie, yours could be about 500MHz, if so try 504 or 507).

I've had this problem a few times and I'm with Telstra, on the older modem you can change the frequency yourself, however on my current and fairly new one it is locked and it apparently changes every time you reset the modem.
