Hi all.

I thought I would add a tutorial request thread for those of you who are wanting to learn new skills. Tutorial requests can range from beginners to masters, and can vary on subject, ie mapping, scripting, video editing, photoshop, texture creation etc.

If you are keen on learning a new skill or simply building on your current ones, then copy the below template into a new post in this thread. Be sure to check the forum for existing tutorials before posting requests for new ones.

you create the material, usually a repeating material, and use the tools to add real maps and export VTF.

Okay well seems quiet easy enough, i have applied for dev team but hit me up if you got anything challenging in terms of video editing or graphics. I wouldnt mind making videos if its within my experience i still have heaps to learn

link a view videos on texture creation man. We need a lot more texture artists. Can never have to many textures.

Texture creation is easy, especially if you have the stock photos to work with.

i could probably cover that, but i havent made skins in over 2 years so i may have to teach myself again haha.

I haven't got source sdk open at the moment so I will be doing this off memory.

This quick tut will show you how to spawn a random nade (selecting from 1 of 3 potential spawn points).

• Create an entity called logic_case and name it: random_number
• Create 3 x weapon_hegrenades (or whatever weapon you want) and name them in numberical order, ie: nade1, nade2 and nade3.
• Place the grenades where you want them to spawn.
• Create 3 x point_template entities and do the same, ie: temp1, temp2 and temp 3. It doesn' matter where you place them.
• In each point_template entity, under Template 1, write the name of each grenade. example: temp1 will have nade1 typed in, temp2 would have nade 2 etc.
• in your logic_case, go to the outputs tab and do the following: Oncase01, temp1, forcespawn, <optional delay>. Oncase02, temp2, forcespawn. Oncase03, temp3, forcespawn.

Now that our spawner is ready, we need to work out a trigger. You can either have it trigger the spawn automatically on round start, or when a player presses a button or walks through a trigger entity.
I will keep it simple and do it on round start:

• Create an entity called logic_auto
• Go to the outputs tab and write the following: OnMapSpawn, random_number, Pickrandom (will select a random spawn, even if it does the same one twice) or PickRandomShuffle (will go through each entity until each has spawned, then starts again).

This will now spawn a random grenade when the round starts, each round. You can add extra nades and OnCase results for if more grenades or weapons are required. This method can also be used to trigger certain events, like explosions, traps etc.
