Gmod or CS: Deathrun: DTK

I am very sorry if this has been mentioned, but I would love to play a DTK deathrun server. I'm not sure if DTK has ever attempted to make a deathrun server but I imagine it would be a big success.
I would love to hear what you guys think!

I'd love an event for deathrun count me in! but i dont think stk is going to get another server for a little bit!

Well, considering you're an EM, maybe you can organise one :P

Though personally, a week is too long. Maybe 1 full day or 1 night? Or weekends?

Yeah week is too long to remove a server's purpose. It would be more efficient to just make a deathrun server

A event would be good, but DTK atm doesn't really need any more servers for the time being, but thankyou for the suggestions good sir.

I think he means a weeks' worth of say, 1-2 hours each night.

Yeah I remember Minigames having a Deathrun night each week for about 2 hours. Get in touch with an EM.

Thank you everyone for your intellectual opinions,
I would like to suggest that we advertise a deathrun special event across the forums, the event itself will take place on one of our least populated servers.
After the event has transpired we do a few polls, get some community ideas going and decide if investing in a deathrun server would be beneficial to DTK.

Any thoughts?

Well yes, if the poll results are very good then it would be a good idea to replace it with a server that is always dead or almost dead 24/7

IMO, a whole server might not be the thing considering that minigames and deathrun are so alike, that it would be easier just to place deathrun maps onto the minigame server ( Like how bhop maps are on the surf server)

Hmm, very true. Ok how about this,
We make it, so the special event is on DTK Minigames, this would be a lot easier than setting up a whole deathrun server on an empty server for the purpose of a special event. If the polls are supportive of the special event, and a majority state that they would subscribe to a deathrun server. Maybe that's when we consider merging a deathrun server into an unpopulated server.

I like the can do attitude but you may want to work your way up in the community before deciding what we do

Anyway suggestions are always welcome. Firstly the previous deathrun events were held on the MG server. Secondly none of the servers are that dead that we would want to remove them. Lastly no one wants invest into it really. And for DTK to fund it, we would need to start making a profit so we have money to spend on this. Currently a lot of it comes out the pockets of council members.

The fact that I am not even in the position to thank someone for their post really shows how long into the community I am. I should definitely join DTK and understand more about how this group works before I even begin to have an input into what goes on in the servers, thanks everyone for posting.

you could talk to our events manager ipoodle if you have any ideas for events and talk it out with him if he isnt busy

I was more meaning the way his ideas were being suggested. Instead of "let's do this" I think it needs to be more like "What do you think about DTK doing this". Sounds more like a suggestion rather then a statement or order.

Just add deathrun maps in to the MG rotation, like how pwnage said, it would be similar to how Surf has both Bhop and Surf maps. It works well that way.

I will clarify, I am just offering an idea that the council can work with, reading over it now I understand that I phrased it to say 'Step aside I'm taking charge' haha, that was not my interntion, :P
