"amazing shots! yea, i can't imagine spending a few grand and not using it anyway for the long term..." By the way you don't have to pay grands to buy a DSLR. I got mine for about $800 which was the camera body with 2 lenses (now the price for that has gone down to around $700). You can buy an entry level DSLR for about $500 with one lens.
